Eggs Design is an important performer in Norwegian design industry, with a wide circle of well-known customers in different sectors like maritime, healthcare, IT, finance, oil & energy, and public sector. Today Eggs has 80 employees in total, with offices in Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger, Copenhagen, and Curitiba in Brazil. Paal Holter, creative director, partner and co-founder, and Ulla Sommerfelt, CEO at EGGS design, received members of BNCC for a breakfast meeting in their remarkable headquarters in Oslo, where the concept of design in all its aspects was presented together with an overview of EGGS’ operations in Brazil.
After a mingling session, Paal Holter presented in a timeline perspective the levels of design impact and how does design can help clients to deal with change. The old concept of design relating to form and craft is today much broader, with the inclusion of the design thinking concept and transformation as a result. EGGS aims to be a change agent, creating attractive solutions together with their clients and helping them to develop innovations and explore new opportunities.
EGGS uses the whole range of designs disciplines, digital design, service design and technology to find new strategies, involving the clients and looking from the end user perspective. Designers help companies adapting their operations and staying relevant in a modern world, while management consultancy uses analytical approach to advice managers. Ulla Sommerfelt has published the article “Your next management consultant is a designer” which explains in a very engaging way this perspective. (Read the article here). And this standpoint may explain why management consultancy firms have acquired over 70 design firms in the last years.
Why Brazil? EGGS vision is to unleash creative powers, to create valuable change by holistic design. They saw the potential of reaching it by crossing the Scandinavian functionalism and design traditions with the Brazilian creativity and diversity. In two years’ operating in the country, they already have Exxon Mobil, Itau Bank and Loadsmart service as client examples. Is it any doubt that EGGS will reach the expected position of Brazil’s most impactful design agency for creatives, entrepreneurs, and business developers?BNCC is proud for having EGGS as members and watching their success in Brazil, in a very different market than usual, proving that the business relations between Brazil and Norway go away beyond the oil and energy industry and the city of Rio de Janeiro. We wish EGGS the best of success, and broad appreciate the sharing of such an inspiring case of Norwegian business in Brazil.
