In connection with the NORSHIPPING conference and exhibition, a delegation from the public investment promotion agency Investe São Paulo visited Oslo. The purpose of the visit was to establish relations with Norwegian companies investing in Brazil, or considering such investments, and to promote the state of São Paulo as an attractive place for Norwegian companies to set up business in. The program for the delegation was set up in cooperation with BNCC, who also accompanied the visitors during their stay in Oslo.
Following meetings with a.o. STATOIL, Innovation Norway and Rolls Royce Marine, the delegation visited the NORSHIPPING exhibition to talk to a number of companies already operating in Brazil or considering such operations.
On June 5th a breakfast seminar was held at Hotel Continental where an audience of 30 was given presentations of the importance of the state of São Paulo in Brazilian economy, industry, research and innovation. The president of Investe São Paulo, Luciano de Almeida, explained how the agency could assist – free of charge – in the establishment of new business or expanding present business. To further develop the relations between the state of São Paulo and Norwegian business interests, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the president of Investe São Paulo, Luciano de Almeida, and Terje Staalstrøm of BNCC, linking the two organizations together in a common effort to promote the state of São Paulo as an attractive place for Norwegian business to consider for new investments and expansions.
