As main speaker BNCC had invited the Brazilian ambassador HE Flávio Helmold Macieira. The ambassador described his career since he entered Itamaraty in 1977; a career which includes both political and trade aspects in his various positions in Brasilia and abroad. The last posting before Oslo was Nicaragua – quite a different environment, both politically and as to climate.

The ambassador also shared some of his views on prospects for the period he now will spend in Norway. The relations between Brazil and Norway are strong, not just on trade and commerce, but also when it comes to international politics and how to tackle environmental challenges. He had just returned from Tromsø and looked forward to see other parts of this country, which he described as beautiful in spite of the cold.

The Chairman of BNCC thanked the ambassador for his words and looked forward to a continued fruitful cooperation between the Brazilian embassy and BNCC.
