BNCC at NORSHIPPING – A Success

“Brazil Day” at NORSHIPPING was a great success. In the morning important Brazilian industry leaders like Petrobras’ Sergio Gabrielli and Transpetro’s Sergio Machado told the audiences of the importance of the Brazilian market and in the afternoon INTSOK/SEBRAE, GIEK and PriceWaterhouseCoopers held seminars on practical issues related to doing business in Brazil.

All through the day BNCC had a booth at the exhibition entrance, manned by BNCC members and with Brazilian coffee courtesy of our member Friele. The strategic location, colorful posters, a trio playing Brazilian music and not the least BNCC supporters speaking Portuguese, English and Norwegian made the booth a popular pit stop for exhibition delegates.

The BNCC information material was well received and questions for more information on trade issues, legal issues, local content, partnership possibilities etc. were floored by our booth attendants. The DLW-project with its social aspects was appreciated and commented by many.

“Brazil Day” was also celebrated at Campus Rådhusplassen with seminars and cultural arrangements. To an audience of young maritime professionals BNCC Board Member Harald Martinsen spoke on the challenges in doing business in Brazil.

NORSHIPPING also saw the Clean Ship Award given to Vale, recognizing that its new series of ore carriers has the cleanest emissions to air compared to its capacity.
