Ottar Hermansen from Innovation Norway welcomed BNCC’s members for the first breakfast meeting of this semester.
Professor Pål Johan From from the Norwegian University of Life and CEO of Saga Robotics introduced an inspiring and innovative case of development of electric machines, more precisely robots to the agricultural sector. Their robots bring a more sustainable solution to the world challenge of food production. For this, Saga Robotics is collaborating with important partners, among them NMBU and Brazilian students and Universities.
Five Brazilian master students are having the opportunity of participating in advance research projects and through this experience they expect to present their creation, a solar-powered robot, called Sagatiba, who will provide monitoring to sugar cane field of UMOE, a industrial partner producing bioenergy in Brazil. This summer the students participated in a summer camp with other students and professors from Brazil, USA, UK and Norway.

Bo Byrkjeland , from the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) presented the new funding scheme for international internships, called InternAbroad. This is a great opportunity for collaboration between education and industry. Norwegian students will be financed to internship programs in eight countries, among them Brazil, where was allocated extra 2 millions NOK by the Norwegian government. This opportunity is open to all fields, any level (bachelor, master or PhD).
The Universities should be the main applier and the deadline is September 22nd. Companies interested need to get in contact with the educational institutions.
